We are seeking submissions of poetry by teens to be published on the official festival bookmarks. 1 poem will be selected to be published and distributed to 500+ teens during the ChiTeen Lit Fest.
We will not accept work that is racist, homophobic, misogynistic, anti-semitic, sexist, agist, or any other form of writing that may be offensive or hurtful to others. In regard to explicit language, we are adverse to cursing without artistic purpose.
The theme for this call includes poems that speak to the ChiTeen Life. These should be poems that reflect what it means to be a teen in Chicago, experiences and stories of being a teen in Chicago, your Chicago inspirations. Basically, if you had one bookmark that was in the hands of Chicago teens what would your poem say?
- Up to 3 poems
- no more than 32 lines. (Keep in mind that your poem will be on a 3"x9" bookmark)
- Fonts: 11 or 12, Times New Roman, Arial, Serif
- doc, docx, pdf
By submitting, you are giving ChiTeen Lit Fest permission to publish your work if selected.
