Submission Guidelines: Writer of the Week We are looking for the very best teen writing of Chicago. We seek to feature a different teen writer every week. We are open to any style of writing. By submitting, you are giving ChiTeen Lit Fest permission to publish your work if selected. We will not accept work that is racist, homophobic, misogynistic, anti-Semitic, sexist, ageist, or any other form of writing that may be offensive or hurtful to others. In regard to explicit language, we are averse to cursing without artistic purpose. Please submit your best work, the work you are most proud of.

Submission Format: doc, docx, pdf

Fonts: 12, Times New Roman, or similar fonts. Double-spaced.

Genres we accept

Essays, Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, Blog posts, Articles: Up to 5 pages

Short Scripts/Plays: Up to 1 act

Poetry: Up to 3 poems 

Lyrics: Up to 2 songs

Comics, Graphic Novel: Up to 4 pages
